What we collect when you book a skip, who we pass it to, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
Skipwise Ltd, company number 17347771, registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. We are a registered waste broker, registration CBDU649374. We are the data controller for the information described on this page.
Questions about any of this go to support@getskipwise.co.uk.
What we collect
When you book a skip we ask for:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- The delivery address and postcode.
- What you are putting in the skip, the size, and the date you want it.
We need all of it to arrange the job and to produce your Waste Transfer Note. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's payment form — they do not pass through our servers and we never see or store them.
Who we share it with
The operator who accepts your job receives your name, delivery address, phone number and the job details. They cannot deliver a skip without them. Operators only see jobs offered to them.
We also use these suppliers to run the service:
- Stripe — card payments and fraud prevention.
- Resend — sending booking emails.
- Supabase — the database that holds bookings.
- Vercel — hosting and page analytics.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Waste Transfer Notes are kept for two years from the transfer. That is a legal requirement under the duty of care, and it is the record that protects you if your waste is ever traced back. Booking and payment records are kept for six years to meet tax and accounting rules.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deletion has one limit: we cannot delete a Waste Transfer Note before its two-year retention period ends, because we are required to keep it.
Email support@getskipwise.co.uk and we will deal with it within a month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
