Why choose Skipwise?
The honest answer to “why not just ring a local skip firm?” — starting with the part most people find out about too late.
The one most people don't know
The legal responsibility is yours, not theirs.
Under the duty of care, the person who produced the waste has to be able to show where it went. If waste from your home is fly-tipped, it gets traced back to you. Every Skipwise booking generates a digital Waste Transfer Note automatically and we keep it for two years, so you have the record without asking anyone for it.
We check the licence before they get the job.
Every operator on Skipwise is checked against the Environment Agency's public register of registered waste carriers before they receive a single booking, and re-checked when their registration renews.
One price, and it's the price.
Delivery, fourteen days' hire, collection and tipping are all in the number you see. Ring round three yards and you'll get three different answers and a call back later.
You're not charged until someone's actually taken the job.
Your card is authorised when you book and only charged when a local operator accepts. If nobody can do your date, the hold drops off and you've paid nothing.
You don't do the ringing round.
Pick a date and we find the operator who can do it. If the first one can't, we send it to the next one. That's our problem, not yours.
One place to chase.
Late delivery, missed collection, anything else — you contact Skipwise. We deal with the operator.
